Q: What is the automatic multiple approval function?
A: If the same person is the approver for multiple steps, once approval is given for one step, all the other steps will also be approved.
Q: What are the situations where automatic multiple approvals can be used?
A: Such a situation will occur in an approval process with multiple steps where an approver has assumed various roles. For example, in a 2-level approval with a "Direct Manger - Direct Department Supervisor" structure, where an approver is both the applicant's direct manager and direct department supervisor.
Q: What are the situations where automatic multiple approval can not be used?
A: In any of the following three situations, automatic multiple approval cannot be used, and the approver will still have to give approval at each step:
When the information on the approval form is changed during the approval period. For example, if the reimbursement amount was originally 100, but it is changed to 1,000 during the approval period.
When the approver's permissions are different at different steps, e.g. is not able to send back the document in the first step, but able to in the second.
When a document needs to be approved a second time because it was transferred or sent back, or an approver was added, e.g. previous approval was already granted, but an approver was added, so re-approval is required.
